10 - MyDrive (Google Drive) Restore and Download

For MyDrive, you can

  • Restore entire user’s MyDrive, Single Folder, Single File
  • Do point-in-time restore
    • You can restore a file, folder, or entire drive on any date since the backup started
  • Restore data to the same user’s Drive or any other user’s drive in the same tenant

 

Restore MyDrive

 

Option 1:

  1. Login to the end-user portal for your organization and go to your Dashboard
  2. Go to the G Drive tab
  3. Hover on the user’s drive you wish to restore
  4. If you want to restore the entire user’s MyDrive Data, click "Restore"
  5. On the next screen, you will see the option to select
    1. Backup date
      1. this will restore the files and folders as of that date
    2. Destination
      1. You can restore the same user’s OneDrive or another user's OneDrive in the same tenant 
    3. Default folder
      1. This will restore everything to the same folder from where the data was backed up from
    4. Create a new folder in the user’s OneDrive and restore the data there  
    5. Advance Option
      1. Use this to decide what to do in case a file conflict occurs during restore
      2. Conflict arises when you restore a file to a location that already has a file with the same name and type
  6. Select the options, choose "Start Restore", and click "Yes, Continue"

Option 2:

  1. If you want to restore Selected files and folders, only click on the user whose data will be restored and locate the files/folders you want restored
  2. Click on “Restore”  
  3. Select the option to Restore the last backup version on the backup date or the Last and all previous versions on the backup date
  4. As before, you will be given the option to select options
      1. Destination
        1. You can restore the same user’s OneDrive or another user's OneDrive in the same tenant
      2. Default folder
        1. This will restore everything to the same folder from where the data was backed up from
      3. Create a new folder in the user’s OneDrive and restore the data there
      4. Advance Option: Use this to decide what to do in case a file conflict occurs during restore
          1. Create (Default)
            1. Restore files as a duplicate of the existing ones
          2. Append
            1. Restore files by adding new versions of the existing ones
          3. Overwrite
          4. Replace existing files with the restored ones
          5. Skip:
            1. Skip restore for any files that already exist
      5. Select the options, select "Start Restore", and click "Yes, Continue"
  5. You can check the status of your restores or downloads by clicking on "System Status > Restores" on your dashboard

 

Download MyDrive

  1. Login to the end-user portal for your organization and go to your Dashboard
  2. Go to the G Drive tab
  3. Hover on the user’s drive you wish to download
  4. If you want to download the entire user’s MyDrive Data, click "Data"
  5. On the next screen, you will see the option to select
      1. Backup date
        1. This will restore the files and folders as of that date
  6. Click "Generate Download" and click 'Yes, Continue"
  7. If you want to download selected files and folders, click on the user whose data will be downloaded
  8. Select the backup and the data you want to download
  9. Click on “Download”  
      1. Select the option to download the “Last Backup Version” or “Last and all previous versions” on the backup date
      2. Click "Generate Download" and click "Yes, Continue"
  10. You can check the status of your restores or downloads by clicking on System Status à Restores on your dashboard
