This article explains how to manage Microsoft 365 backups for sub-products in  NinjaOne SaaS Backup.

Environment

NinjaOne SaaS Backup

Description

NinjaOne SaaS Backup can back up more than just emails. Refer to the following sections for information on backing up additional M365 products.

Viewing Mailboxes and Sub-Products

Users with a backed-up M365 tenant can see a list of mailboxes under the Account tab. Each mailbox and its associated sub-products (e.g., OneDrive, Contacts, Calendar, Tasks) are marked with color-coded icons:

Blue – Available

Red – Excluded

Gray – Added to the backup

Adding Sub-Products Outside Email

You have full control over which sub-products to include in the backup. The system provides individual toggles, allowing you to enable or disable each sub-product separately.

Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQ)

Below are some common questions regarding backup of M365 sub-products.

Can I add OneDrive, Contacts, Calendar, or Tasks without including email?

No. Email is always included in the backup by default. The toggle for email is enabled automatically and cannot be turned off.

Are there any limitations in managing M365 backups?

  1. Backup modularity applies only to licensed mailboxes. Shared mailboxes and public folders are not supported due to structural incompatibilities.
  2. For precision and safety, our 'Remove from Exclusion' feature supports single-item removals only. This deliberate choice helps you avoid unintentional changes.
