Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQ)
Does the system back up sub-calendars?
Yes. Sub-calendars, which are additional calendars created in the main calendar, are fully backed up. You can also restore and download them. This feature is currently available only for M365.
Are there limitations on sub-calendar backups?
Yes. The system excludes the following items as they are auto-generated or have complex permission models:
- Holiday Calendar
- Birthday Calendar
- Cortana Reminders and Suggested Meetings
- Teams Channel Calendars
- Resource and Room Calendars
- Shared and Delegated Calendars
These items are either automatically recreated by Microsoft or have more complex permission settings that make backup unnecessary.
Can I restore the M365 calendar to a different account?
No. Currently, restores are only available to the same account, with the option to restore to the original, existing, or a new folder within that account.
Can I restore the M365 calendar events for which I'm not the organizer?
Yes. You can restore events whether you are the organizer or an attendee. Once you restore an event where you are an attendee, not an organizer, NinjaOne SaaS Backup will flag the result as a draft. You will find this information in the confirmation pop-up.
